- South Africa is a great destination year round. There really is no bad time to go. Different times of year will bring different experiences.
- If your clients are travelling with children, be sure to choose properties that embrace kids, not just tolerate them. This can mean safari lodges that have wonderful junior-ranger programs, or hotels with family friendly facilities, amenities, and experiences that suit all ages. There are also a number of malaria free areas, negating the need for malaria pills – a huge plus when you’ve got the whole family to consider. - A number of safari lodges are on private game reserves just outside of the main national parks. Some people believe that you must be “in” the park to see animals, but the private reserves have just as many sightings, plus restrictions on the number of vehicles allowed around them, giving your client a more intimate experience.
- Kruger Park may be the most well-known game park in South Africa, however there are excellent game parks in most of the other provinces to consider. If your clients want to do a bush and beach experience, consider Kwazulu Natal Lodges combined with Umhlanga for a beach stay. If they are doing the Garden Route, finish with a stay at one of the Eastern Cape Lodges, and if they are visiting Sun City, a stay in one of the Pilanesburg lodges is a must.
- Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, and the Okavango Delta are great additions on a trip to South Africa. They are close by, yet offer a totally different cultural and safari experience.
