Toronto, ON – For the first time since September 2019, Goway held its successful Africa and Middle East trade event for travel advisors across North America. Split between days in Toronto and Fort Lauderdale, the event saw 27 suppliers from 14 countries across Africa and the Middle East attend in person to educate North American travel professionals on the exciting possibilities of travel in the regions.
The event kicked off with a social gathering at a ping pong venue in Toronto, pairing up Goway team members with suppliers. It set the stage for an excellent week of fellowship, learning, and networking to follow. On October 23, Goway held a full-day virtual event with presentations to more than 900 North American travel advisors, which demonstrated that there is still a place for virtual seminars in today’s travel environment. On October 24, Goway held an in-person event at the Hyatt Regency in Toronto, where 150 engaged travel advisors enjoyed presentations and took part in a free-flow trade event. On October 26, the format was repeated at the Signature Grand in Fort Lauderdale, with even more travel professionals meeting suppliers and learning about the endless travel possibilities in Africa and the Middle East.
“We’re thrilled with the calibre of the travel advisors who attended our events, and the exceptional testimonials we got about the value of meeting face-to-face with our great suppliers,” says Moira Smith, VP Africa & Asia at Goway. “The 2023 gathering was not only our successful return after a four-year hiatus, but showed the value in hybrid event planning as it was the first time we combined a virtual event with two live in-person events. We believe this is the way forward for travel industry events and to appeal to as broad a base as possible.”
