Goway Downunder is excited to welcome Vaneeta Michie to their Wholesale South Pacific reservations department. Vaneeta brings with her over 20 years of Globetrotting, and extensive travel industry experience.
What is your country of birth?
I was born in Fiji and our family moved to Canada when I was a child. It was quite a shock as we didn’t know the language. The week after we arrived it snowed, and I had no idea what was happening. Being young I soon learned English and made friends.
Have you lived in any country other than North America?
I traveled a bit with my parents to India and England. I have always wanted to travel more. I worked In a dry cleaners for a few years then I went to travel school and haven’t looked back.
What destinations have you sold?
For over 20 years, I’ve been selling Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Fiji, Tahiti, Tonga.
Do you have a funny story to tell about something that happened while you were travelling?
One trip with my husband we rented a little golf kart like thing in the Cook Islands. It started to rain so we put the postage stamp sized roof up and carried on. The rain got really heavy so we drove under a large tree to try and stay dry. It didn’t work lol.
Do you have a travel tip you can provide for your agents?
Make sure all your documents are in order before you leave. Ie: passports, visa requirements etc.
What is the one thing you wouldn’t leave home without?
My passport.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Having a good time on my holidays.
Which four people would you invite to your dream dinner party (living or dead)?
My husband and any of my family and friends.
How would your friends describe you?
Caring and compassionate.
Which living person do you admire the most?
My mom.
What is your most treasured possession?
My wedding rings.
What is your greatest fear?
Spiders

Blue lagoon cruise.
