Goway Offers Overland Safaris in Style for the Over 40’s

August, 2018

Goway’s 22-Day Transkalahari Adventure is an upmarket overland experience that targets the 40+ adventurer traveler. “This is designed for the client who still wants the adventure experience, prefers to travel in a smaller group, and doesn’t want to rough it.” said Moira Smith, General Manager of Goway Africa.

The Transkalahari Adventure travels from Cape Town to Victoria Falls in very comfortable custom-built overland style vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with fridges for drinks and plug points for charging cameras. Large custom slid-down windows offer superior game-viewing and airflow. The maximum group size is sixteen, and a fully qualified professional guide accompanies each group.

Single travelers are welcome and if they don’t want to pay a supplement, they can choose to be paired with a like-minded traveler of the same gender.

The Transkalahari Adventure follows one of the most popular overlanding routes in Southern Africa. It starts in Cape Town then travels north via Augrabies Falls into the Kalahari Desert, with the chance of meeting the ancient Bushman people. It crosses into Namibia and after enjoying views of the Fish River Canyon and continues to the ancient Namib Desert. Energetic Globetrotters can climb the world’s highest sand dunes at sunrise and take guided walks into the desert. The journey continues via the German coastal town of Swakopmund before travelling to Damaraland to meet the fascinating Himba tribe before entering Etosha National Park. After crossing into Botswana, two nights are spent on the banks of the Chobe River, famous for its large number of elephants. The experience ends in Victoria Falls. The trip can be taken in either direction.
