Now Your Visa’s On Us, There’s No Excuse to Bypass Brazil

Whether they’re heading to samba the night away or marvel at Iguassu Falls, Goway is picking up the bill for visa fees to Brazil.

A political tool that often becomes a game of ‘tit for tat’ between countries, visas catch Globetrotters up in their wake, becoming an added cost and hassle to travel. Some visas and the procedures to obtain them can even dissuade Globetrotters from travelling to that country. One victim of its own policies is Brazil, where the lengthy and pricey visa process has deterred many visitors to South America from exploring its largest country. One guaranteed wildlife sighting at Iguassu Falls is the tourist on the Argentinean side who missed out on the view from Brazil because the visa was too much hassle.

While Goway Travel can’t change Brazil’s visa policy, the company is doing its part to ease the burden. For any Brazil booking made with Goway in the month of November, the company will cover the cost of the Brazil visa. This can be a saving of $160US / $120CA – though as with all visa charges, there is the chance it will change by the time the traveller applies.

To be eligible for the credit, Globetrotters need to submit their receipt for the issuing of the visa when confirming their booking. Goway will then deduct that amount from the trip price.

Sadly, Goway cannot actually fill in the paperwork and submit the application. That’s still up to the traveller, as is the cost of any third-party application service. But the company will cover the visa fee. Processing times for Brazilian tourist visas can be lengthy, so we recommend travellers apply a month or two before their trip. That timeframe could soon change however, as Brazil moves to make its visa process easier. Effective January 8th 2018, Canadian passport holders travelling to Brazil will be able to apply for their Brazilian visa via an electronic visa application, done online. As of June 15th 2018, US passport holders will enjoy the same service.

Now, crossing the border in Iguassu Falls from Argentina for a day visit to the Brazil side, visiting the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, the natural playground of the Pantanal or journeying to the heart of the Amazon is much easier and $160US / $120CA per person cheaper with no visa cost involved, all thanks to Goway.
