Mauritius – More Than Just a Beach Destination

Mauritius is so much more a beach destination or island retreat. The country is rich in culture and history and is a perfect destination for those seeking adventure.

View of Port Louis

Mauritius is a small volcanic island surrounded by beautiful coral reefs in the Indian Ocean off the coast of East Africa. Of course, the beaches and resorts are beautiful, but we feel the real beauty is in the mountainous landscape and its people. The Mauritians are so friendly and hospitable and the culture is very unique.

On vacation here, you can enjoy seeing exotic wildlife, shopping at the markets in Port Louis for some handcrafted textiles and souvenirs, and of course, take full advantage of the pristine turquoise waters that surround the island. The island offers plenty of water activities including swimming with wild dolphins, underwater submarine rides, and adventure parks for all ages. For those looking for adventure on land, you can take a walk with the lions, visit a safari, go zip-lining, quad biking, and so much more!

Goway’s 10 day Mauritius Escape is a great introductory itinerary.
