Experience the Magic of Africa!
Goway’s new Magic of Africa truly captures the essence of Southern Africa, and as befits a Holiday of a Lifetime, the accommodations are of the highest standard, the experienced and knowledgeable Tour Director takes care of everything, and the tour is inclusive of sightseeing, tipping, and most meals. That is expected. What is not expected are the special experiences, the exceptional cuisine, and the engaging people that contribute to an unforgettable holiday from start to finish!
Starting your unforgettable trip in Cape Town, South Africa, enjoy a drive to the Cape Peninsula. It’s rugged and spectacular and you drive through interesting coastal towns. The views from Cape Point are worth the climb to the top of what is one of the highest sea-cliffs in the world. For the less energetic, there is a funicular. After feasting your eyes at the gorgeous view, we stop off at The Boathouse restaurant in Simonstown for a five-course gourmet meal, accompanied by your host, chef, and sommelier, Chef Duncan Doherty. For people who love seafood, wine, and engaging with others, this is the place! Each course is meticulously prepared, and paired with exceptional wine.

After spending the day learning a bit about South Africa’s history, including a Walk to Freedom tour and an optional Robben Island tour, the evening is spent with an entertaining experience at Richard’s Supper Stage and Bistro. Here you will be entertained and enthralled by the cast of “Kaapse Stories from the Mother City.” This really is dinner theatre at its best, as it gives a real insight into the colourful and cosmopolitan community that thrived at the foot of Table Mountain in District Six.

The next day we drive through the heart of the Cape Winelands, between Paarl and Franschhoek – the gourmet capital of South Africa. We stop at a winery for a wine tasting, then onto the nearby Franschhoek Motor Museum, where visitors will see a unique and exciting collection of vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, and memorabilia. a light lunch is served at a farm, where you are then taken on an olive oil tasting and wine tasting tour. The evening offers food and entertainment from a variety of African cultures.
Although this luxury itinerary is 12 days in length, it’s carefully designed so that the maximum time is spent experiencing magic moments, and not in travelling to get there. Thus, direct flights from Cape Town to Kruger and again from Kruger to Livingstone (to see Victoria Falls) are included.

At Kruger National Park, your stay at the award-winning Lion Sands Sabi Sands River Lodge offers a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The game experience is superlative but it’s the personal touch and attention to detail that sets Lion Sands apart. Our “Magic” itinerary includes some very special inclusions – one such being a visit to the Henna Pre-school, a true success story of a thriving community project. We share information on what to bring for guests wanting to make a meaningful contribution. Another special inclusion is a private bush dinner only for “Magic” guests.

It’s time to leave South Africa and head to Victoria Falls. The next two nights are spent at the luxurious tented Elephant Camp, idyllically located in a private concession, bounded by the Zambezi Gorge. We have included a must-do tour to Victoria Falls, but have left the rest of the time free, which means you can be as active or as sedentary as you like. There is a plethora of activities one can do – from helicopter flights, to elephant back safaris and game drives, or you can simply relax in your private plunge pool on the deck of your suite, taking in the spectacular views of the surrounding bush.

The final stay on your Magic of Africa itinerary is 2 nights on board the sophisticated Zambezi Queen, located along the banks of the Chobe River in Botswana. Game viewing is from an incredible vantage point on small tender boats on the river. The Chobe National Park boasts one of the densest populations of elephant, and is also home to a large number of buffalo, lion, leopard, a variety of antelope, and an abundance of bird life. Your last night in Africa is spent dining on the banks of the Chobe River under a star-filled sky… a fitting end to a “Magical” stay in Africa!
