Goway Offering Early Bird Discounts on Overland Safaris in 2018

Animal life in the Namib desert

Goway is inviting travellers to Overland in style on its Transkalahari Adventure, with 10% off for those booking early for 2018.

This 22-day safari offers a more “upmarket” overland experience, aimed at the 40+ adventurer traveller. “We recognized the demand for the client who still wants the adventure experience, but doesn’t want to rough it and prefers a smaller group,” says Kirsty Perring, General Manager Goway AFRICAExperts.

Far from ‘roughing it’ in tents, accommodation on Goway’s Transkalahari Adventure is in 3 and 4 star boutique hotels, lodges, and chalets, all with en-suite facilities. The itinerary travels from Cape Town to Victoria Falls in comfortable overland style vehicles. These are equipped with fridges for drinks and USB points at each seat for charging cameras. The maximum group size is sixteen, with each group accompanied by a fully qualified professional guide. Single travelers not wishing to pay a single supplement can be paired with another like-minded traveller of the same gender.

Sossusvlei sand dunes

The itinerary follows one of the most popular overlanding routes in Southern Africa. Starting in Cape Town, it travels north via the Augrabies Falls into the heart of the Kalahari Desert, with the chance of meeting the ancient Bushman people. It then crosses into Namibia, and after enjoying views of the Fish River Canyon, continues to the ancient Namib Desert. The energetic can climb the world’s highest sand dunes at sunrise, before taking a guided walk into the desert. The journey continues via the German coastal town of Swakopmund before travelling to Damaraland. Two nights are spent in the famous Etosha National Park in search of Namibia’s famed endemic wildlife. After crossing into Botswana, two nights are spent on the banks of the Chobe River, known for its large numbers of elephants. The touring experience ends in Victoria Falls, where a wide variety of activities are available.

Goway’s Transkalahari Adventure starts at US $4,519 and CA $5,807. Passengers who book by 30 September 17 for any departure in 2018 will save 10%.
