Where were you born?

I was born in Italy.

Where in Central & South America have you travelled?

I’ve been to Peru and Lake Titicaca, the Amazon Rainforest, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, and Costa Rica.

How long have you worked at Goway?

I’ve worked at Goway for four years.

What’s your favourite destination in Central & South America and why?

It’d have to be the Galapagos Islands. This island chain is heaven on earth. The warm weather, animal life, water, sandy beaches—everything about it is heavenly!

What’s the most-requested destination by your clients?

Peru, Ecuador, and Costa Rica. Machu Picchu and the Galapagos are definitely favourite first-time destinations for people when they look to South America. Costa Rica is popular to escape the winters, but also because it is close to North America, not too culturally different, and affordable!

What’s your favourite Latin Food?

Ceviche (also cebiche, seviche, or sebiche), which, according to Wikipedia, “is a seafood dish that originated in Peru. It’s typically made from fresh raw fish cured in citrus juices, such as lemon or lime, and spiced with ají, chili peppers, or other seasonings including chopped onions, salt, and coriander.”

What are your tips for selling Central & South America or the Polar Regions or a particular country?

Central and South America is an incredible place full of different cultures (not just Inca), traditions, history, and adventures, not to mention culinary arts. I like to gather as much information from my agent and partner in this journey, and find out what type of client she or he is working with. Does the client like adventure? Send them on a hike of the Inca Trail in Peru. Do they like marine life? Then they should go to the best place on earth, the Galapagos. Naturally, I need to know budget and time away and ask “why” they want to go, as the why will help me design the perfect trip for their client.
