The Maldives is one of the world’s most beautiful island destinations, like a string of pearls dotting the Indian Ocean. Made up of 1190 atolls (islands) with over 120 private island resorts, the destination offers a wide range of accommodation options. It can be easy for you and your client to become overwhelmed with choice, so Goway Travel’s team of IslandsEscapes experts (who have experienced the destination first-hand) can help you plan the perfect vacation for your client.
Here are 4 tips to help create the perfect vacation:
1. Combine with another Destination En Route. Islands hopping isn’t common in the Maldives, as access to many of the resorts is by seaplane. For some variety, Goway recommends breaking the trip with a stopover in a transit gateway, as offered in our Dubai and Maldives Vacation including Airfare or Romantic Paris and Maldives. This a great way to get the best of both worlds, combining a fantastic city and beach stay, it is also a great way to maximize your clients’ budget, getting them the most bang for their buck, as most stop overs in one direction are free.
2. Add some Special Touches. Consider offering your clients some unique upgrade ideas like staying in an Overwater Bungalow, or recommend upgrading to Business Class. 3. Take advantage of Seasonal promotions. Most resorts offer free nights or discounts for travellers as an incentive for spending longer at their property. The best specials are typically for travel between May and September, as this is Maldives’ slightly wetter, more humid season. However, this is still a great time to go as downpours are usually short, and help to clear the humidity.
4. Pre-purchasing your meal plans. Many resorts in the Maldives offer meal plans like half board (breakfast and dinner) or full board (all meals). Many also offer all-inclusive packages, and your clients can purchase this at the time of their reservation (and pay in their local currency), making the trip hassle-free as it removes the stress of spending money on meals and all drinks. It’s also often better value since it saves the additional taxes travellers would be subject to in-destination. Some resorts even have special seasonal promotions that include a free upgrade to different meal plans.
